The Aesthetic Eye of a Young Man

After spending some backyard scavenge time armed with a hatchet, my thoughtful young son presented me with a bowl-full of brilliance. Thin sticks chopped to a uniform length, bundled in string and displayed artfully in a milk glass pedestal bowl. And accented with pinecones, of course.

It is, quite easily, my favorite display in the house.

  2. Love this!! And I love that he was out with his hatchet. Ben loves to dink around like that too, feeling like "wilderness Man!" I don't think he would ever make a nice centerpiece, though~

  3. Oh, the best gifts are from their hands and hearts... There's something so sweet yet completely masculine in his thoughtfulness.

  5. I'd say he's observing and learning how to demonstrate thoughtful kindness from his daddy. I know that you will display your arrangement with pride and appreciation all season long. And, I must say, I like his simple, rustic style.
