Life as a Slideshow

Preparing a slideshow for the memorial service on Friday. My heart is confused lately. Surging with sweet relief and breaking with grief. Memories, however, remain my treasure.

  1. Anna, a beautiful tribute to a life full of love and family!

The black and white photos enchant me, and I recognized some little faces in the mix. Such sweet moments captured.

May you be keenly aware of His grace and comfort.

  2. Anna, you and your family have been in my prayers and heart!! I know your sorrow is deep and it will take time. Soon, you will take a deep breath and be blessed with visions of her dancing at our Lords feet with rays of His light shining on her beautiful smile! I hope you rest tonight in peace, and awake with clarity!! I love you and your family.

  3. It is so difficult to lose a loved one, even when we know it's time. The slide show is beautiful.
You and your family are in my prayers.

  4. that is so perfect and fun and special, I love the pictures you chose, and love how you ended it w/ those last few pictures of her. I could really see the family resemblances, too, fun for me to see! The one of her in that cute, full-skirted white (?) dress by the car is one of my favorites- I also loved the one of her feeding (Lucette?) while your Mom was holding her on her lap. Lots of really neat ones of everyone. The family will love it. Sweet music, too.

  5. Very meaningful. Sure makes me feel the verse, 'Life is but a vapor'. It comes and goes so fast.

  6. It seems like those confused moments of grief are some of the most potent emotions we feel. On July 4 it will be a year since I lost my grandmother, but I still feel that strange mixture of emotion whenever I think about her. My first thought when she died was positive: she's no longer suffering and dying in hospice and she is finally with the husband she had lost 30 years before. And in the next instant I was wracked with grief that my infant son would never know just what an amazing woman she was. But of course, he will--because I'll tell him. May God grant you strength and peace in the year ahead.

  9. Bless you Anna. What a beautiful remembrance of your dear grandma's life. I too saw such darling family resemblances and was touched by the way you captured the tenderness and spunkiness of her life. (Tender and spunky...that sounds a lot like you.) May you feel Jesus' tender touch in your time of pain. - Ashley
