He still lets me love on him. He's good to me like that.
But there is no denying that the days are passing and he is growing up. Little milestones along the way assure me of that.
Like when the moment comes that you can say,
"Son, hoist me upon your back!" ... and he can ...
... well, that is a milestone to be sure.
I love how he is
still a boy. But before long ...
... he'll be a man. He has a fine example to look up to.
My 13 year old boy still lets me hug on him. It's fun! How are you so thin to be able to go on his back? Kermit sitting here!
ReplyDeletePS I no longer have my blog, but still love yours.

Oh, LOVE this and totally relate! Ben has wanted to read the entire 'Hardy Boys' series with me. Seriously. Some days I just want to chuck the Hardys out the window, but then I always stop myself. Someday really soon, he's not going to want to snuggle up and read with me and I will miss this!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your sweet boy. And isn't it great that he has an awesome dad to look up to?!
These boyhood to manhood milestones are subtle, aren't they? At some point during this past year I realized that my oldest is no longer a little boy... he's just a growing boy with a dry sense of humor, a big appetite, and lots of sweat.
